We are pleased to confirm that the installation of the new Heineken Cellar Pro system has commenced, with no disruption to members or hirers. We will keep members informed should there be any changes to the installation plan, specifically if there is any undue inconvenience.
Heineken has received some good news from Diageo in that their allocation of Guinness will be increased next week.
Whilst they are receiving more stock, they still ask for our support by ordering only what we require to meet our customer demand in the week.
They will continue to monitor the Guinness stock situation daily and if Heineken find demand is exceeding their allocation, they will have to return to reducing customer orders.
Unfortunately the Diageo supply issues with Guinness continue.
Whilst Heineken are still receiving deliveries of Guinness this weeks allocation from Diageo has significantly fallen short of customer demand.
Heineken are now in a position where they have exhausted all their Guinness supply from Diageo and are now out of stock of 50L Guinness kegs.
Our future deliveries may be affected, however, our Steward will do all she can in order to source Guinness, if Heineken is not able to supply us.
Starting on 10 February 2025, we will be upgrading our cellars to the Heineken SmartDispense™️ Cella Pro system. This upgrade will take three days and may cause some minor disruptions for members.
What is Heineken SmartDispense™️ Cella Pro and why install?
The Heineken SmartDispense™️ Cella Pro system can be configured in single units to optimize cellar space. It is designed to deliver colder, fresher pints while reducing wastage and fobbing. The system does not require secondary underbar cooling due to its energy-efficient cellar cooling. Cutting-edge sensors detect when kegs need to be changed, and the built-in stop-start flow allows us to change a keg mid-pint without affecting quality.
Key Benefits:
• Easy keg change
• Consistent, high-quality serve at 3ºC or less, plus industry-leading hygiene standards
• Six-weekly cleaning cycle performed by Heineken technicians
• Up to 85% reduction in beer, water, chemical, and CO² waste
How does this impact me as a member, and will prices go up?
No, prices will not go up. Based on our financial calculations, which have been confirmed with our stock taker using information from our stock reports, receipts, purchase orders, delivery notes, and end-of-day readings from our point-of-sale terminals, the estimated annual cost saving will be around £1,000 per year. More significantly, the benefits mentioned above, as well as providing the social club with a modern, 21st-century cellar solution, are noteworthy.
How do we know that this will maintain or improve current standards and quality?
We have visited three sites (Dartford Golf Club, Dartford Social Club, and Danson Sports FC) that have the SmartDispense system installed. They have all confirmed the success of the new system. We have also sampled the beer at these locations and can confirm that there is no issue with the quality of the product.
Installation plan and minor disruption to members
The installation will take three days to complete, typically one day per bar, starting with the hall bar on Monday. On Tuesday and Wednesday, the games bar and upstairs lounge bar will be upgraded. The club will remain open throughout the cellar upgrades. While the games bar is out of use, we will use the hall bar to serve products, although some draught products may not be available. The seating area in the games room will be unaffected throughout the upgrade.
